Matt Preston Credits His Weight Loss to Lifestyle Change Which Included Moderation and Working Out 4 Times a Week

Former MasterChef judge Matt Preston (@mattscravat) has undergone a dramatic weight loss. He has lost a lot of weight and looks almost unrecognizable. He looked much slimmer compared to before. Preston flaunted his new look in a casual outfit as he donned a pair of navy shorts and a navy top. He kept it comfortable with a pair of white and grey trainers. While out and about, the reality TV star was seen with a long beard and casual clothes, looking trim and happy.

He appeared content in his new skin as he went about his day, carrying his phone and keys. He appears to have lost a significant amount of weight in the six months since he was photographed leaving a Melbourne gym last November. He has been working hard to lose weight. The celebrity food critic’s weight has fluctuated over the last decade. He has continued to drop the weight sporting a much trimmer figure.

Shortly after Preston left MasterChef Australia in 2019, he revealed that he started a weight loss journey after weighing 140kg. He dropped a bit of weight and put on a bit of muscle. He credits his transformation to a general lifestyle change that included moderation in addition to a workout routine.

Since then, the celebrity chef eats less, mainly plants but not restricting himself to anything. He has admitted that moderation is more important than sticking to a strict diet. Whenever he tried this before, he always added restrictions.

The reality star claimed that he is an omnivore and that he still eats burgers and pizza on occasion, but not every week. He has also started working out 4 times a week and has also radically changed his diet. According to him, it is all about a healthy lifestyle as we know but the hardest thing is actually having the time where you can dedicate an hour to the gym.

While Matt Preston hasn’t revealed just how much weight he lost- with no intention to do so in the near future either. He measures his weight loss success against different signs like if people notice and whether his clothes fit. His weight loss may also be related to the training he is doing in preparation for his appearance on Channel 7’s hit show Dancing With the Stars this year.

Matt Preston Now Eats Less, Mainly Plants but Not Restricting Himself to Anything

After more than a year of experimenting, Matt Preston has found a healthier lifestyle that works best for him. And he is doing it tough at all. He has admitted that moderation is more important than sticking to a strict diet. He does, however, try to be sensible about things and admits that it is old-fashioned but it is called moderation. Preston is an omnivore and he still eats burgers and pizza on occasion, but not every week. He now chef eats less, mainly plants but not restricting himself to anything. He also avoids processed foods wherever possible.

The Australian chef has fallen deeply in love with vegetables and that’s only heightened over 1 and a half years as he moved his diet at home away from meat and carb-focused dishes like spag bol, lasagne, steak, and mash, curry, and basmati over the past six years. He is not so taken only with the fruit, roots, tubers, and leaves of the plants but also with the seeds, nuts, herbs, spices, texture, and flavor of so many of his new favorite dishes. Matt Preston has trained herself to drink more and enjoy teas made with herbs from the garden rather than his usual tea or coffee. He has made a vow to eat eggs but no more than half a dozen a week.
