Did Sylvester Stallone Receive Plastic Surgery Before Filming Rocky 3?

Many people believe Sylvester Stallone underwent plastic surgery before filming Rocky 3. While he has never revealed when he received it, the 76-year-old actor previously admitted that he has only had facelifts to conceal his scar.

No matter how many films are produced from the Rocky franchise, they always manage to hold our attention. To be honest, Sylvester Stallone could release a Rocky film every year and we would be front row center for everyone.

First and foremost, that would be impossible to achieve in terms of filmmaking. It’s simply not possible to write a script, cast actors, film everything, and then go through post-production in the time it takes. But more importantly for this post, Stallone reportedly suffered excruciating physical harm as a result of the movies.

Recently, Sylvester Stallone has been very active on Instagram posting a flashback image from the set of Rocky 3 detailing his diet at the time. At the same time, many people wonder if he underwent plastic surgery during the making of the movie. Well, let’s find it out together.

Previously, we touched on the plastic surgery efforts of Luciana Barroso and Nina Dobrev

Sylvester Stallone’s Plastic Surgery: People Believe the 76-Year-Old Star Received a Few Cosmetic Treatments Before Filming Rocky 3!

It’s true that Rocky Balboa was hit in the face several times in the Rocky movies, so it’s understandable that fans wonder if Sylvester Stallone (@officialslystallone) has undergone plastic surgery over the years. For many years now, viewers claim he looked very different in Rocky 3 than his appearance in Rocky 2.

Well, Sylvester Stallone has admitted to having some cosmetic facelifts, in contrast to some other celebrities who have opted to downplay their involvement in plastic surgery procedures. In his defense, he claimed that he did so due to nerve damage caused by surgery on his mother during childbirth. According to Stallone, the damage caused him to have a collapsed look on the left side of his face and a twisted mouth. The Rambo star claims he had facial surgery to correct this error. Additionally, Sylvester Stallone was only 34 years old when he filmed Rocky 3.

In the context of Rocky 3, it appears that he had some plastic surgery between the end of Part II and the beginning of Part III. Rocky had lumps over his eyelids in the first two films. Mick had the same lumps, as well as extra makeup/prosthetics on his nose (to make it look like it had been broken a hundred times) and on his ears (to make it look like he had cauliflower ears).

Rocky also had a scar over his left eye that ran vertically through his brow. They did not apply the makeup/prosthetics for the lumps over his eyes or the scar in Part III. That’s most likely what Paulie meant when he said, “You fixed your face up handsome.”

In other words, Rocky Balboa probably underwent plastic surgery to remove the lumps over his eyes and the scar. Stallone simply did not put on the makeup/prosthetics for those scenes in Part III in real life. Stallone’s physique was also influenced by the fact that he had an insanely low body fat percentage for Rocky 3, which gave the impression that he was gaunt.

Likely, Sylvester Stallone changed his hairstyle completely. He had a completely different physique, a bodybuilder physique as opposed to his previous lumberjack physique. He was wearing makeup on his face to make him look as good as possible on camera. The makeup department did not try to make him look good in the first two films. They were attempting to make him appear as if he had been fighting in clubs for ten years, hence the lumps and scar.

And when Closer Weekly spoke exclusively with experts to learn more about the A-procedures, lister’s and they all agree that Sly had work done throughout his career. Dr. Adam Hamawy said,

Sylvester Stallone looks like he’s definitely had some work done. His strong jawline and tight neck look like they’ve been maintained with a well-performed lower facelift. He’s also had an upper and lower eyelid lift and a browlift that really gives everything away. Those brows look really over-pulled. While high, arched brows can look great on a woman, brows that are too high can look awkward on men.

However, Sylvester Stallone acknowledged in a 1992 interview with People that he had surgery only on the left side of his face because he was born with a crooked mouth (he prefers to be photographed on his right side). He explained,

People see this scar and think I’ve had a facelift. What they don’t notice is that I don’t have a scar over here by my right ear. What do they think? That I could only afford to have half of it done? Sure. Why not?  Your car has had body work done.
