MasterChef alum Julie Goodwin (@_juliegoodwin) has made headlines in the past for her dramatic 20 kg weight loss. She insists that she doesn’t have any magic diet bullet. She says that a restrictive diet simply isn’t worth the angst because weight almost invariably comes back soon as the dieting stops. The television presenter admits that she was very healthy before and she is very healthy now. She doesn’t claims it’s better to be bigger or smaller. She did not follow any kind of stupid and sad diet rather, her weight loss was an upshot of her increasingly busy schedule and not something she had been purposefully working towards. She was running a business like a mad thing, and sometimes she forgot to eat. Goodwin’s personal dieting philosophy is; Life is too short not to drink wine and eat cheese.

Furthermore, the cookbook author ran her cooking school on the Central Coast, Julie’s Palace from 6:30 am to 11 pm, seven days a week. She has always been the subject of critics who have felt free to make disparaging remarks about her weight and size. Regardless of her weight loss, Julie insists that she has learned to accept her body as it is and is in a better place these days after wasting time trying to fit society’s version of the ideal body in the past. She believes her weight loss is nothing to be celebrated and wishes people to stop judging others by their appearance.

The popular chef began her weight loss journey in 2015 when she dropped 7 kgs after starring in the jungle-based reality series I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here. She lost seven kilograms in three and a half weeks on the reality show, which is filmed in a South African jungle and features celebrities who are deprived of food and creature comforts. Julie says she lost weight because she was starved there. Likewise, there were days when nobody had the energy to move off their beds.

And that weight loss continued when Goodwin returned home. She was concerned that perhaps she had developed a serious medical condition. She was worried because she had never been able to lose weight without working really hard for it. She took herself to the doctor for a check-up and found out that nothing was wrong with her. Julie admits she survived a life-long battle with her weight.

Since she claimed victory on Australia’s first season of Masterchef in 2009, Julie’s beaming smile was popping up in magazines and on TV shows and commercials. At the time, she alleged that a diet pill company named Garcinia Total used her AWW photos in online advertisements claiming she used and endorsed their product.  She also took legal action against the diet suppressant company that was allegedly using her image without her permission.
