Charlie Dimmock’s Weight Gain: The Ground Force Star Has Doubled the Size of Her Body!

Charlie Dimmock looks almost unrecognizable now because of her massive weight gain transformation. The muscular and leaner Charlie has now become the heavier-looking woman. And it appears the Ground Force star’s age is the primary reason behind her transformation as she previously revealed that she stopped caring about her weight as she was aging.

Charlie Dimmock is a British television presenter, horticulturist, and garden designer who was born on August 10, 1966, in Southampton, England. Dimmock became famous in the UK in the 1990s as one of the co-presenters of the BBC gardening television series, Ground Force, which aired from 1997 to 2005.

Alongside Alan Titchmarsh and Tommy Walsh, she became a household name due to the show’s immense popularity. The show saw the trio transform gardens in just two days, and it was loved by audiences for its accessible tips and practical gardening advice.

Dimmock’s gardening expertise and her down-to-earth personality made her a popular figure, and she went on to present several other gardening and home-improvement shows on British television, including Charlie’s Garden Army, The Joy of Gardening, and Garden Rescue.

In addition to her television work, Dimmock has written several books on gardening and has been involved in various gardening-related campaigns and initiatives, such as promoting urban gardening and encouraging children to get involved in growing their own food. Today, Dimmock is still active in the gardening world and can often be seen on British television offering gardening tips and advice.

Those who watched Ground Force are aware that Charlie Dimmock does not look the same anymore because of her massive weight gain. The muscular and leaner Charlie now has become really heavy. Well, let’s talk about her transformation in detail.

Charlie Dimmock’s Weight Gain: The Ground Force Star Has Gained a Lot of Weight in the Last Decade!

Charlie Dimmock was a popular name back in the days when she hosted Garden Force on BBC. Of course, many people still remember her appearance. However, you might struggle to recognize the 56-year-old gardening expert if you see her today. She has gained a lot of weight. And the reason behind her weight gain does not differ from most people who are aging.

When you compare her before and after pictures, we can clearly observe that Charlie now looks almost double the size. And it appears that she has now stopped caring about her weight.

In 2016, Charlie Dimmock explained that she always struggled with weight fluctuation, and she accepted the fact that she does not have much time to care about her weight gain because of her age. She stated,

I’ve always been up and down in my weight. I’ll never be slim or skinny, let’s put it like that. One season I’ll be a size 14, then 18, but it’s something I’ve just accepted now. I’m at that age where I think, life is too short.

No doubt, her age is the primary reason behind her transformation. As you become older, you lose muscle mass, which slows your metabolism and promotes weight gain. So, you are likely to put on weight if your diet remains the same. Furthermore, menopause also adds extra weight to your body.

However, the shape of your body does not matter until and unless you’re happy. And it appears Charlie Dimmock does not really give much concern to her weight gain. We hope she keeps her body healthy and keeps doing what she does best. Gardening!!

Charlie Dimmock’s Relationship Status!

Charlie Dimmock does not appear to have a partner right now. Yes, the gardening expert is spending her life alone. However, she was in numerous relationships back in the day.

When exploring New Zealand in the early 1990s, Charlie met her longtime partner, viticulturist John Mushet. Despite John calling the redhead his “misses,” the two spent 13 years together without getting married. Charlie had a brief relationship with Ground Force crew member Andy Simmons, the microphone operator, which caused their separation in 2001.

But, the relationship fizzled out, and Charlie went on to date sound technician Barry Smith, another member of the show’s crew. She told The Daily Mail that she didn’t have any regrets once it was revealed that Charlie had an affair with Andy. She told,

We’ve talked to each other a few times since we broke up. I don’t see Andy any more, but I don’t regret what happened. You wouldn’t do anything if you kept worrying about what might go wrong.

In 2016, when asked about her romantic life, Charlie Dimmock told the Independent that she has no plans to ever get married.
